Yumor Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 18, 2026
Last updated: August 26, 2026
We respect and protect the privacy of all users. To provide you with better services, this app (the "App" or "Service") has established this Privacy Policy ("Policy") to explain how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information.
By using our Service, you agree to the collection, use, and processing of your information as described in this Policy. This Policy applies to all services you use through the Yumor App.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to the services we provide while operating this App. It does not apply to other websites or apps reached through links, whose content and privacy practices we cannot control.
2. Information We Collect
When you use this App, we may collect or process the following types of information:
- Content you create:
- Notes and summaries: Notes, summaries, to-dos, tags, notebook categories, and attached images you create in the App are stored locally on your device by default.
- Preferences: Theme, appearance, reading font size, sync settings, and reminder settings are stored on your device.
- Information sent for AI features:
- Data sent: When you use AI summary, AI brief, polish, expand, continue writing, translate, extract to-dos, or AI Q&A, the note titles, note content, or selected text related to your request are sent (for AI Q&A, your question and the summary content are also included).
- Recipient: The third-party AI service provider DeepSeek (deepseek.com). Data is sent directly from your device over an encrypted HTTPS connection to DeepSeek's servers (api.deepseek.com) for processing and the results are returned; it does not pass through or get stored on our own servers.
- Purpose: Solely to fulfill the AI request you initiate (summary, brief, polish, expand, continue writing, translate, extract to-dos, Q&A, etc.). We do not permanently store this content on our servers.
- Consent mechanism: Before you use an AI feature for the first time, the App clearly discloses this data sharing (what data is sent, who receives it, and why) and only sends data after you explicitly agree. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → AI Features; after withdrawal, AI features will not send any content to third-party services.
- Device permissions:
- Camera: Used to take photos for notes (only when you initiate it).
- Microphone and speech recognition: Used for voice input (only when you initiate it; recognition runs on-device).
- Notifications: Used for daily review reminders (only if you enable them).
- Information processed via Apple services:
- iCloud sync: When enabled, notes, summaries, images, and backups sync across your devices via Apple iCloud, subject to Apple's privacy policy.
- In-app purchases: Subscription transactions are handled by Apple StoreKit; we do not directly collect your payment information.
3. How We Use Your Information
- Core services: Store, display, search, and sync your notes and summaries; generate to-do lists and statistics.
- AI processing: Send text you submit to the AI provider to fulfill summary, polish, translation, and similar requests.
- Backup and restore: Create backups locally or in iCloud for your use.
- Reminders: Send local notifications for daily review when you authorize them.
4. Storage and Security
- Retention: Notes and settings are stored on your device by default; with iCloud sync enabled, data is also stored in your iCloud account. After AI processing, the third-party provider handles data per its own policy; we do not separately retain your AI request content long-term.
- Security: AI requests are transmitted over HTTPS. As a third-party AI provider, DeepSeek's data processing is governed by its official privacy policy (DeepSeek Privacy Policy), which provides the same or equal level of data protection as this Policy. We recommend setting a device passcode and securing your Apple ID.
5. Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure
- Sharing: We do not share your personal information with third parties except:
- AI features: text you submit is sent to DeepSeek for processing (only to fulfill your request, and only after you explicitly agree in the App). We have confirmed that DeepSeek provides the same or equal level of data protection as this Policy; its data processing is governed by its official privacy policy (DeepSeek Privacy Policy).
- Apple services: iCloud sync and in-app purchases are provided by Apple, subject to Apple's privacy policy.
- As required by law or with your explicit consent.
- Transfer: We will not transfer your personal information to any company, organization, or individual unless we have your explicit consent or are required by law.
- Public disclosure: We will not publicly disclose your personal information unless authorized by you or required by law.
6. Your Rights
You can manage your data by deleting notes, turning off iCloud sync, or uninstalling the App. Subscriptions can be cancelled in system settings. Contact us below for further assistance.
7. Children's Privacy
This App is not directed at children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
